Understanding MB engine codes

Any Mercedes vehicle since 1959 comes with an engine code. Mercedes fills these small stamps with information about that car, including the style of motor, type of engine, the version of that motor, and the year it was fitted, among other things.

Understanding these engine codes can impact how you drive; for example, diesel vehicles are not suited to short start-stop journeys.
